Singapore Airlines started their business in 1972. Since the launch of their services, they have used almost the same logo design. Singapore Airlines used to be Malaysia Singapore Airlines, but due to political disagreements between the two countries, the world got two new airlines: Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines, each bearing its own logo.
Singapore Airlines is using a bird in their logo design, inspired by a silver kris. This logo has been featured on two places: on the airline’s collaterals and tailfin. The logo is almost the same as the original one before the split from Malaysia Singapore Airlines.
A new logo design for Singapore Airlines was introduced in 1987. As compared with the previous logo design, the company has changed the font and color of the font from black to navy blue. They also changed the color of the bird from black to golden yellow.
Having a bird is very common in the logos of airlines, but Singapore Airlines has used it in a totally unique way. The official symbol of Singapore is the lion’s head. The airline could have incorporated it in their logo, but instead, they used a bird, which is said to represent soaring to new heights, freedom to fly and perspective.
In the following set of logos, we are sharing with you the vector transparent background version of Singapore Airlines in PNG format. You can download it and zoom in to see how perfectly it has been crafted by the logo designer. You can use this as an inspiration for your own work, especially if the client is an airline.
